Our founder, Albert Alidjah, has been featured in a German newspaper under the headline "Nähmaschinen für Ghana" (Sewing machines for Ghana). The article recognises the work he is doing for young people in Ghana.
Albert, who was born in Ghana and lives in Ebrantshausen near Mainburg in Bavaria, has joined forces with other supporters from the Hallertau region to fill a container with equipment for Ghana. Donations that help with education, vocational training and creating income are especially valuable: working sewing machines, computers and laptops, tools, household appliances and music equipment.
The donations support a training centre in Ghana whose goal is to give young men and women practical skills, help them build their own livelihoods and create a sustainable future for their communities. That is exactly what Boafowe Skills Training Centre does in the Biakoye District of the Oti Region, where all training is free of charge.
"Together we can turn things we no longer need into opportunities for people who need them," Albert told the newspaper. Financial support is also warmly welcome.
The container is planned to set off for Ghana at the end of November. Supporters in Germany who would like to donate equipment can contact Helene Tschacher by email at [email protected]. To give money, see our Support Us page.
